Challenger MT800C Tracked tractors

Challenger’s policy of constant improvement and use of the most advanced technology has resulted in new tracked tractors – the MT800C series.

The new series’ tractor cab is equipped with Tractor Management Centre (TMC) including the all new 7” (178 mm) colour display, positioned at the front part of the right armrest. At the heart of the system is the new TMC Display, a seven-inch (178 mm) colour screen fitted to the front of the right armrest and adjustable to provide the optimum view at all times. Importantly, the new system is completely ISOBUS compatible, eliminating the need for separate equipment to control the rig in the cab.

The One Touch Headland Management procedure is even more comprehensive on ‘C’ Series tractors and easier to use. One Touch allows the operator to store 35 functions across six different implements.

The new hydraulic features offer great flexibility. The Challenger MT800C Series retains the innovative Load Independent Flow Division (LIFD) system, in which, when all six valves are in use and the flow demand exceeds pump capacity, the flow to each is reduced by an equal percentage in order to maintain all operations. Moreover, an extremely useful new feature allows the operator to prioritise a hydraulic function that may be more crucial than the others in order to maintain full flow to that function while flow to the remaining functions is reduced.

Challenger has developed polyurethane midwheels, which are available as an option on the MT800C, as well as the debris deflector.

Operating in demanding environments – such as at very high temperatures or in abrasive conditions – can take its toll on the midwheels of tracked machines. That is the reason for the development of ‘Poly midwheels’ with the working surface made from Ultra-High Molecular Weight (UHMW). Polyurethane as an extremely hard-wearing alternative to the standard rubber-coated specification.
